Google Gemini for Educators
Practical use cases & prompts to test the power and potential of the new AI model on the block.
Hello, fellow education innovators! 👋
In the latest edition of Learning Futures (and the last of 2023!) we're diving into the most talked-about AI development this month: Google's Gemini AI model.
Gemini is Google's contribution to the expanding world of AI models which is currently dominated by tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Bing and Anthropic’s Claude.
So far, the world has talked a lot about how Gemini performs compared with existing models like ChatGPT and Bing. The TLDR here is that Gemini (and especially Gemini Ultra - the largest and most capable version designed for highly complex tasks) performs on average better than existing tools.
But what does all of this mean for educators? Are there specific features and benefits to using Gemini for teachers, professors and instructional designers? I have spent the last week asking this question and the answer is yes.
In this month’s newsletter, I explore how Gemini stands apart from existing AI technologies for educators, and delve into practical use cases and prompts to so you can have a go and test the power and potential of Gemini for yourself.
Let’s go! 🚀
